Going back about 12 years ago I set out to buy a pallet of dry dog food direct from a factory. I wanted a salmon recipe for my Great Danes because I was told it was a good food to feed for showing them. Somebody told me about a particular factory so I phoned them up.
“Err is it possible I can buy a pallet of ‘Salmon With Potato’?” I had a kind of reply that didn’t come across very well.
Then the lady on the phone said, “Do you have a business?” I was a bit taken back and replied “yes but……we sell Office Furniture.” There was a tiny bit of silence then she said, “It’s a business! I will send a form over and you can fill it out.”
The following day I filled out the form and sent it back to the factory. Within a short time they contacted me and said everything was fine and accepted my application. My first pallet of dog food arrived.
I probably had seven Great Danes at the time. The odd person at the Dog Shows asked if they could buy some bags off me as my dogs looked in good condition. The price was very reasonable too with 44% salmon in the recipe.
A short time later Daneline agreed it would be better if their foster carers were sent bags of ‘Working Salmon With Potato’ to feed the dogs whilst fostering. The ‘Salmon With Potato’ diet seemed to help the Great Danes put on weight and give them good shiny coats.
I have learnt that Salmon is a great source of lean protein containing all the essential amino acids. It is also a good source of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids for healthy skin and shiny coats. It’s easily digestible for sensitive dogs and provides a healthy immune system.
By then Potato was becoming more popular in dog food. It is a good source of vitamin C and B6 alongside potassium, manganese and provides fibre.
Our recipe contained 13% oats and maize with 4% beetroot. These cereals are generally good along with rice and barley.
In all the dog food we sell are no added artificial colours or preservatives. The recipe naturally preserves by adding Rosemary Extract.
Our recipes weren’t just made for Great Danes! We have recipes for any dogs of any breed or crossbreed, any size and any age. These are just a few that you will find on our website.
